A Successful Introduction in Harare

Zimbabwe korfball Federation had a success introduction of Korfball in Harare as from 31 March to 2 April 2011 at Queen Elizabeth School.
The course was being managed by Theo Van Der Linde and being assited by four Zimbabwean instructors and two from Malawi. It was a course with a different as participants came within Harare and other regions such as Mashonaland Central Province and Bulawayo Metropolitan province. Theo was monitoring and evaluating our national and Malawi instructors.

More than 40 participants participated during this course which saw Harare province setting up its board which is led by Pardon Hove as the Chairperson and Ottilia S Kurebwaseka secretary of the province.  Participants had to go under extensive training so that they will be able to start korfball in their region. After the course the Zimbabwe korfball Federation managed to have 5 provinces under its management which are:

1         Masvingo Korfball Board

2         Manicaland Korfball Board

3         Harare Metropolitan Korfball Board

4         Bulawayo Metropolitan Korfball Board

5         Mashonaland Korfball Board

With these provinces ZKF is now applying for official recognition to the NOC and Sport and Recreation Zimbabwe (supreme sport body) as the minimum requirements of provinces is 4.
